Confirmation bias, or are we on to something?

January 21, 2008

The Bicycle Leadership Conference just wrapped up in San Diego. There were many constructive topics, including a welcome call for even more advocacy dollars and local level involvement from the industry.

The one session presented by strategic marketing firm Peninsula Strategies referenced “…too many products which in turn hurts brands. It is recommended to focus on a few key-use products, and advocating for changes in product portfolios and product design processes.”

When we saw this topic pop up before the conference, we were keen on finding out what they had to say. Since we started Kind, this has been our M.O. We are not about depriving the market of innovation and selection – we are all about giving you, the customer, a clear choice that will help you enjoy your researching, purchasing and riding experiences more.

So it appears that at least one group agrees with what we are saying on this front. Hopefully more will come around to this and other issues we are addressing.
